We’re driving late at night again… a procession of mammals, ultra revellers and bananas slip past in slow motion, searching for their names. Life as a film, seen through the windscreen of a moving car, stereo on. ‘All the lights are sliding on the other side’ - Know your name
lyrics
Appleshine (All The Lights)
All the lights are sliding
On the other side
All the lights are sliding
On the other side
Tin star, know your name
Close your eyes, know your name
Dirty jeans, know your name
Banana-Banana, know your name
Precious things, know your name
Invisible people, know your name
Ultra reveller, know your name
Animal, Mammal, know your name
Let the sun in, know your name
Banana-Banana, know your name
Alone, alone, know your name
One, two, three, clean, know your name
The misery’s over, know your name
This is England, know your name
Scuba Diver, know your name
Alone, alone, know your name
Know your name

If touring was possible, these are the sounds I’d be chilling out to in my bus bunk after getting off stage from another night of banging techno. (Karl Hyde/Underworld). Underworld
THREE is fantastic! ‘Bloom’ is pure, unpredictable, relentless sonic nectar. The Necks are an animal machine, painters of landscapes that make my head feel good. - (Karl Hyde - Underworld) Underworld

A group that I know only too well, I’ve been with them for nearly 30 years; from their Glaswegian basement origins to their current status as Arena band. My enthusiasm for their later output may have tempered somewhat as the mighty ‘Gwai evolved their sound to avoid pigeonholing, but there is nothing better than when they lay waste to a venue via the sheer euphoria of ‘Helicon 1’. They’re still devastating live and, after all those years, THE authority in Instrumental Rock music. Logen Ninefingers
